You know you've been in Africa too long when...

You can sleep comfortably, all wrapped up, in just a chair, in the middle of the day. But that's how we usually spend our Sunday afternoons at the pastors house, after church. Everyone just naps outside, it's more comfortable than sleeping inside a hot hut.

Hanging with Pastor and his fam

Some of the things we like to do when we're just hanging out at Pastor's house is play cards. They taught us their card games and we introduced them to UNO.

Other times we just sit and talk and end up laughing a lot

Me and Leah at the Shea house in Siby

Leah (aka. goldfish / volunteer) stayed with us for about 5 weeks this last July. She came to see life and ministry in the village, and would go with us as we visit friends, and share stories with people. Some of the women we like to visit work at the Shea house where they make different products with Shea oil in it, like lotion, pomade, or soap.
And of course every volunteer has to experience something crazy while they're here...

One evening there were a lot of, I guess they're really big termites, or some kind of bug that the pastor's kids collected, and the next morning they fried them up put some salt on it and shared it with us.

hmmm... delicious
